When it comes to security, be it your home, place of work or even your person, everyone wants to feel secure. There are many ways you can protect yourself and your environment. We have already spoken about CCTV or Closed Circuit Television. So we shall now talk more about home style burglar alarms. These systems can be incredibly simple. Basically they are an electrical circuit which when broken, sounds the alarm. Some will be set off by a door opening, others by a door closing. You can build this system easily into doors and windows.

Making the entry points into the home alarmed may be reassuring but you need to remember to turn it on. Some will only set the alarm when they leave the house, but we recommend considering this at night time too.

If you are wanting to be extra certain, we would suggest multiple security systems or at least considering multiple entry points. You could for example consider that an intruder might break through a window. You could make the glass itself a circuit, just like with the doors and windows. The easiest way to do this is run a current through a thin line of foil wire, attaching this to the window. If a burglar breaks the glass, the circuit is broken, and the alarm is triggered.
