Anti-UAV Drone System
The world security tech is constantly on the rise with more companies and nations resolving to sophisticated methods. Drones are such methods or technologies that are incorporated in the modern security strategies. However, as the need for increased surveillance is required, most of these drones are malicious, mischievous, or positive. Although, most nations, or companies cannot take chances with them. They can be spying or have hidden motives. For this reason, a technology that can detect and destroy these drones had to be invented as well. One such technology is Anti UAV Drone (AUDS).
More about the AUDS
AUDS have been installed with a sophisticated design that can detect, track, classify and destroy or disrupt these drones from ranges of up to eight kilometers. Most studies done in the UK indicated that the AUDS can actually disrupt various types of drones including the micro, compact and the standard UAV drone systems. Mostly, theyare designed to specialisein identifying and detecting the unnamed UAVs remotely and remotely disrupting and neutralising them.
Into the Tech
These AUDS are designed and developed through collaborations among various British companies. The companies have the capability and the required resources to successfully design a counter UAV drone system. The technology presents a modular design reflecting that of a mobile platform weighing about 55 lbs. or 25Kg. One of the gadgets involved scans the air security radar. In addition, the system also has a high sensitivity thermal imager and daylight cameras that are long range color cameras, and a signal jammer or radio frequency (RF) inhibitor. These units installed on the AUDS system are integrated to work together to successfully detect, track, and neutralise drones from distances up to 8Km or five miles. Some of the feature that enhance the functionality of this defensive system are the optical trackers, and the radar connected to the proprietary software.
How the defense system works
The defense system also incorporates more advanced security measures such as the EO video tracker that has updated technology together with a first class tracking technology. The system has been designed to be as intelligent as possible. For instance, it can make timely and informed decisions. It then uses the Enterprise Control Systems and the RF inhibitor based on the action reaction time, or the timely response to interrupt the C2 channels on the UAV drone systems successfully disrupting the drone’s intention or mission. This disruption is possible with the smart RF inhibitor that employs directional antennas that attain maximum frequency range and selectively disrupts the drone. This is highly effective, as the UADS never interrupt other channels but only for the identified drone. The drone is neutralised by a powerful four-watt directional beam from the smart RF inhibitor. Nevertheless, the Anti UAV Drone (AUDS) incorporates the use of its optical disruptor jamming the drone’s camera auto focus.
Price
The defense system has undergone various international trials including major countries in Europe such as the UK and other continents like North America ever since it was unveiled in May 2015. It was found to work in all kind of weathers. The system was even show cased in London just recently. The manufacturers have established the price of the AUDS at £800,000.
