Train station security

Away from the capital’s train stations, and back out into the rest of the country, paying for a fare is often optional. The chavs of the world, the fare dodgers and those without any kind of respect for anything tend to avoid paying any kind of fee if they can. In London though? There’s no chance at all – and the security goes a long way to making that possible.

Every station, well – almost every station, there are numerous barriers which you absolutely must scan in and out of. The reason for this is two fold – firstly it prevents people getting onto the train without payment at one end – but if, somehow, they managed it – scanning out at the other end would cost them a massive amount of money. Increased security from guards, but also larger volumes of people, mean that there’s rarely any issues at London’s train or tube stations.
