Are Key Fobs Safe and Secure?
Key fobs are systems that allow you to enter a building without having to use a key. They are wireless remote devices that work by locking and unlocking a door, usually when it is pressed to a specific contact point. They work in the same way as a car remote controlled door. They are regularly found in office buildings, so that multiple members of staff can get access to the building.
Are key fobs safe? Due to the way they are programmed, they can actually be more secure than a normal key. If a fob goes missing, it can be cancelled off the system, which means that the locks do not need to be changed in the same way that they might with a key. They can also be beneficial for fire safety and for helping people out in emergency situations, because they allow quick access to a building and doors can usually be opened internally by pressing a release button.
