Your physical health is important in any job, but no more so than when you work as a security guard. You will need to be able to deal with difficult situations, and the possibility of confrontation, so being in good shape will help with this. Here are some of the things you can do to make sure you are ready to complete your work to the best of your abilities:
- Take regular training. Make sure you complete work-related training courses to help you understand what is required from the work.
- Join a gym. This will help you to complete a regular exercise, at times that are flexible – much of your work can be during anti-social hours in security.
- Keep cardiovascular fitness levels up. Go for a run, skip or cycle to work.
- Complete strength training exercises. You might choose to lift weights or complete resistance exercises. This will help burn calories as well as increasing strength.
