Fire Safety Information for Commercial Buildings

Fire safety is always important, but never more so than in large commercial buildings where there are lots of people. You will need to abide by strict fire safety regulations and use common sense to ensure you will be keeping everyone in your building safe. Here are some points to follow:

  1. Make sure you fully understand all fire safety regulations for your specific type of building. Don’t take any chances.
  2. Have clear escape routes. Mark exits and install fire doors that will open easily.
  3. Install a fire alarm system, that can either be activated by someone who sees a fire, or that will detect any smoke in the building.
  4. Have a way for smoke to be vented out. This is really important because smoke inhalation is one of the most serious problems people can encounter when there is a fire. Automatic opening smoke vents in the roof will work to remove smoke from the area.
